It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Young, a beloved father to Daniel and Betty, grandfather to Cameron and Kayla, brother to John, Albert, Francis, May, James and Mable, husband to late wife Helen, and friend to many, whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and love to all who knew him.
Michael lived life with a spirit of adventure and joy. He had a passion for travel and embraced every opportunity to explore new places, experience different cultures, and create lasting memories along the way. He was also a lover of good food, discovering new restaurants, especially enjoying Dim Sum and dinners shared with friends and family. He always looked forward to gathering around the table, sharing stories, laughter, and the company of those he cared about most.
Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Michael had a gift for making people laugh and lifting spirits with his quick wit and easy smile. His laughter was contagious, and his ability to find joy in everyday moments made him a cherished companion and friend.
Michael was also incredibly generous with his time and talents. He genuinely enjoyed helping others with home maintenance and repairs, always willing to lend a hand whenever someone needed assistance. He gave freely and never expected anything in return, finding happiness simply in being able to help others.
Above all, Michael was devoted to his family. As a father, he offered love, guidance, and support. As a brother, he shared a bond of loyalty and care. As a friend, he was dependable, kind-hearted, and always ready with a story, a joke, or a listening ear. As a grandfather, he will be remembered as a caring and fun-loving "Yeye" or "Gong-yee". His grandchildren were among the greatest treasures in his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them — whether sharing stories, making jokes, traveling together, or simply enjoying a good meal and laughter around the table.
Michael’s memory will live on in our hearts and in the countless moments of laughter, adventure, and love he shared throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
May he rest in peace.
