Peacefully in her sleep at University Hospital, London, Yoshie Kosaka, formerly of Toronto, after a short courageous battle against liver cancer, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 just twenty-four days before her ninetieth birthday. Yoshie was the second youngest daughter of Matsutaro Kosaka (1956) and Kiyoka Kosaka (nee Miyoshi) (1949). She was pre-deceased by older brother Kensuke Kosaka (1993), older sister Ayano Fujimoto (1979) and youngest sister Kay (Kikue) McBride (2013). Yoshie is survived by eldest sister Sumie Matsushita (New Denver, B.C.), niece Elaine (Ray) Lett (Victoria, B.C.), nephew Masato (Patti) Matsushita (Revelstoke, B.C.), nephew Ken (Jan) Fujimoto (Calgary, Alberta) and niece Jeanne Taylor (Frank) Hopkins (London, Ontario). She was also blessed to be a great aunt and a great-great aunt. Friends may call at the PINE HILLS VISITATION CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Road (at St. Clair Ave. E.), Toronto, 416-267-8229 for visitation on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 10-11 a.m. followed by a service in the Chapel and Reception immediately afterward. A private cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers and koden, donations may be made to London Regional Cancer Program, 790 Commissioners Road East, P.O. Box 5165, London, Ontario N6A 4L6 in memory of Yoshie Kosaka.
