Yolanda Yuen Mei Chan (“Fei Fei”) was born November 16th, 1941 to father Mr. Chan She Chan and mother Mrs. Chan Lai Wai Fun in Kowloon, Hong Kong with two older brothers and four younger brothers. Yolanda was a kindergarten teacher; her young students loved and adored her. She married her husband Mr. Tin Tai Chan, also a teacher and they had two children: daughter Sheila and son Wilson.

Yolanda and her small family of four moved to Canada to start a new life in search of safety and a better future. She managed a restaurant in Chatham, Ontario and later owned a restaurant with her husband in Owen Sound, Ontario. After successfully running and finally selling the restaurant in 1989 the family relocated to Kitchener, Ontario to be with her children as they attended University. Yolanda always had a flair for fashion; she decided to become a hairstylist and studied alongside her children. Hairstyling followed her to Pickering until retirement. To accommodate their senior years, Yolanda and her husband Tin Tai moved to Scarborough, Ontario. Following the passing of her husband, Yolanda moved to live with her son Wilson and daughter-in-law Jennifer. Yolanda was talented, hardworking, funny, gentle, patient, generous and loved to share goodness. Her smile lit up the room for days! She will be very missed.
Yolanda will be lovingly remembered by her two brothers: Calrence and Kenneth, her two children: daughter Sheila (Chris) and son Wilson (Jennifer), three granddaughters: Samantha (Nicholas), Casandra (Vernon), Kristen (Gabriel) and grandson: Taison, along with her four great grandchildren: Anaiyah, Damian, Rhema-Jenae and Kayli and her two nieces and two nephews.

Many, many thanks to Maria Jarlego, Mary Cris Togonon and Jon Mari Cabudoy for their truly kind and compassionate care in her final years, bringing her much comfort.

May she continue her journey with God and spend her days now in the presence of her Almighty Heavenly Father.
