In memory of

Ying Ng

October 20, 1935 - December 12, 2025

Ying Ng, aged 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on Oct 20,1935 in China, she came to Canada (Golden Mountain-land of opportunity) as a young bride in the late 50’s where she started a family. Life threw many challenges, but she managed to fight and overcome each and everyone of them. She lived a long and hard life defined by unwavering devotion to those she loved
Ying’s greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She dedicated herself to raising three children and spent the early years of her retirement babysitting her grandchildren Matthew followed by Samantha. She always asked “How is Matthew? When is he coming home to visit?” She enjoyed the time he spent with her. She loved Samatha’s food especially through COVID. She loved the treats Katie and Kevin made like tiramisu, cinnamon buns, etc. Lastly, she loved spoiling Mookie the family dog with forbidden treats.
She is survived by:
Her 3 loving children: Nancy Ng Charron (Gary), Bing, Shirley Chong (Alex),
Cherished grandchildren: Matthew Charron, Samantha Charron, Katie Chong. Kevin Chong and Mookie
Loving Sister: Natividad Mifsud (Tony) & family; Patrick Mifsud (Anika) Layla& Sofia and Christopher
Loving Cousin: Margaret Chan & family; Jenny (Ed)

This has been a long journey for our family. We were fortunate to have great medical support from the various doctors along the way who helped provide the best care possible allowing mom to live to 90. A heartfelt thank you and gratitude for the compassionate care and kindness to the doctors and caregivers:
Dr Tang-Wei – (Toronto Western Hospital)
Dr Jacqueline James – (Mount Sinai Hospital)
Dr Gladys Chan - (North York General NYG)
Dr Priya Shah - (NYG RCC)
Dr Amanda Li - (NYG Palliative)
Dr J. R. Davey - (Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit)
All the wonderful, dedicated nurses and support staff along the way (Nurse Anna @ NYG Palliative, Nurse Ha @Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit)
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Ying Ng be directed to “The Palliative Care Unit,” in care of The Sunnybrook Foundation, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M4N 3M5. 416-480-4483.
