With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Yau Pak Lem; our beloved father, husband, grandfather, and loved one.

He was an intelligent, resourceful, and hardworking man who took on life with determination and creativity. With very little when he first came to Canada, he faced many challenges, yet through sheer effort and willpower he built a beautiful life, bringing loved ones together with the endless warmth and care that defined him. His heart and mind were always with those he cherished, and he considered others with deep thoughtfulness. Whether it was fixing something or solving a problem others thought couldn’t be solved, he always found a way. He took great pride in his work and in the things he built with his own hands and heart.

He was a devoted husband who cherished his wife and the life they built together. With a smile and quiet devotion, he would often say, “Whatever Mom wants,” a phrase that perfectly captured the love and respect he had for her.

Through his life, he raised five wonderful and strong daughters. Each grew into an independent woman carrying with them his teachings and memories; every one a piece of the fire from his heart he caringly shaped with his warmth and love. They continue forward with his warmth, spirit, and care among those they cherish.

No amount of words could ever describe the man we all knew, the depth of his love, and ours for him. What defined our dear father, husband, grandfather, and loved one will always be treasured in our memories.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
