Mr. Wing Ko Hung was born in 1937 in Guangdong Province, China.
At the age of three, he tragically lost his father, Hung Yu, to illness. From then on, he was raised solely by his mother, Ho Li-Hung. In those challenging times, his mother worked tirelessly to support him, instilling in him the values of strength, responsibility, and gratitude from an early age.
At ten years old, he moved to Hong Kong with his mother, beginning a new life in an unfamiliar place. Through perseverance and hard work, he steadily built his own path forward.
At the age of twenty-seven, he married his beloved wife, Ko Siu Fong, and together they built a family grounded in love and dedication.
Within his family, Mr. Hung was a devoted husband, a responsible father of Bessie, Maria, Karen and Raymond, and a caring grandfather. He was blessed with in-laws: Gilbert Lee, Benny Fung, Vincent Chan, and Alice Chui, and six cherished grandchildren: Priscilla, Sally, Howard, Kristy, Kayden and Karissa.
Mr. Hung dedicated over thirty years of service to Citibank, where he was responsible for property maintenance at the Central Head Office. His presence could be felt throughout every corner of the building. Colleagues across all departments knew him affectionately as “Hung Gor”. Known for his reliability, humility, and meticulous work ethic, he approached every task—big or small—with care and commitment. He earned the deep respect and affection of those around him.
His home was filled with warmth, laughter, and togetherness. Though a man of few words, he showed his love through quiet actions and unwavering support. To his family, he was a pillar of strength and the foundation they could always rely on.
In his personal life, Mr. Hung found joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed playing mahjong and card games with friends and family, cherishing those moments of companionship. He also loved dim sum and yum cha, where he could relax, share conversations, and appreciate the rhythms of everyday life.
After retirement, he immigrated to Canada and began a new chapter. He took great pleasure in driving—taking his wife out for groceries, bringing his grandchildren to school and activities, and never hesitating to lend a helping hand. In these everyday journeys, he embraced a life of quiet contentment and freedom.
Looking back on Mr. Hung’s life, one may say it was not marked by grand or extraordinary events. Yet, through perseverance, humility, and steadfast dedication, he lived a life of deep meaning and quiet dignity. In his own way, he touched and influenced everyone around him.
Today, we bid him farewell with both sorrow and gratitude.
Thank you for being part of our lives and for leaving behind so many precious and heartfelt memories.
May Mr. Hung rest in peace. His love and devotion will forever remain in our hearts.
