Wilfrid Malcolm Duncan

Duncan, Wilfrid Malcolm Colquhoun BASc., P. Eng., M.C.I.P.
Wilfrid Malcolm Colquhoun, known to his family and friends as “Mac”, died on April 2nd, 2014 in his 85th year after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born and raised in Toronto, after completing his Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Engineering) at the University of Toronto (‘52), he married Barbara Coleman. He served with the Canadian Officer Training Corps, achieving the rank of Second Lieutenant. As a Civil Engineer and Urban Planner, he worked in the residential land development industry until the age of 70. He was a leader in designing and developing suburban subdivisions in the GTA. Mac was a Director with E.G. Faludi and Associates, President of Urban-Regional Engineering Consultants Ltd., Vice President of Genstar Development Co. and later owner and President of Duncan-Land Consulting & Management Inc.. His noted achievements include the design projects of St Andrews residential development in North York, the Genstar Glen Abbey development in Oakville and large residential communities in the GTA for Toronto’s leading builders.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of 57 years, his son Scott (Laurie) and daughter Renee (John) and his grandchildren Kathryn and Matthew. He will be missed by his sister in-laws Hazel (Ken) and Lee (Ian) and his nieces and nephews Joyce, Bruce, Douglas, Iris, Adrienne and Wilfrid, along with cousin Buster. The extended family, cousin Bill, Janis, Christine and Maureen, and cousin Cathy and her mom Corinne will all miss his sense of humour.
