In memory of

Wanda Trimble

August 9, 1921 - February 13, 2026

Wanda Trimble nee Williams
August 9, 1921 to February 13, 2026
A proud Australian and Canadian. Wanda passed away peacefully at the age of 104, reunited with her husband Desmond (d 2013), sister Gabrielle (d 1997), and brother Barry (d 2013). She lived an extraordinary life - travelling the world, visiting six continents, even witnessing the procession of Queen Elizabeth II enroute to her coronation in Westminster Abbey in 1953.
After eventually settling in Toronto and obtaining a BA through part time study from University of Toronto, Wanda taught high school English for 30 years. She retired from Central Technical School in 1985 and embraced her retirement mantra wholeheartedly - something for her body, something for her mind and something for someone else. As in her youth, Wanda travelled well into her 80’s, throughout the United States, Europe, South America, Asia, Australia and Africa, making firm friends along the way.
Wanda was a strong supporter of her church and several charities as well as a formidable contract bridge, Scrabble and Sudoku player until her last month. A gracious hostess, her guests enjoyed her wonderful cooking, her quick wit, and always engaging conversation. A keen theatre goer, she supported the Shakespeare festival in Stratford, Ontario from its inception and successfully convinced many friends and relatives to join her through the years.
Beloved by her nieces and nephews, by whom she was known as Auntie Bob, and by all her friends around the world and in her senior community at Christie Gardens. She was a bright light for us all.
The family requests you make a donation to your favourite charity in her name, thereby brightening others’ lives too.
