<div itemprop="description">Walter Swandells Ross, 86, of Oak Ridges Ontario, succumbed to<br>leukemia on Thursday October 24, 2013 at Southlake Regional<br>Health Centre surrounded by family.<br>Born in Glasgow Scotland to Emily and James Ross, the youngest of<br>6 children, Cathie, George, Rena, James, Nancy and himself. He<br>lived and married in Scotland before moving his family to Canada in<br>1967.<br>Walter is survived by his wife Emily of 62 years, daughter Aileen and<br>her husband Glen, son Kenneth and his wife Janice, Grandson<br>Douglas and his wife Colleen, Granddaughter Lindsay and her<br>husband Justin, Granddaughter Kristen and her fiancé Michael,<br>Grandson Andrew and his fiancé Danielle, three Great Grandchildren,<br>Brynna, Iain and Addison, his loving sister Nancy Jennings, many nieces and nephews and extended family.<br>Walter was a loving husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and friend to all.<br>Walter loved sports and current events. When he could no longer enjoy playing golf he spent many hours<br>watching it on television along with tennis and many other sports. His wife Emily grew to enjoy watching these<br>sports events out of necessity; when you can't beat them, join them as they say.<br>Walter was known by all who knew him for his great sense of humour. There was never a dull moment when<br>he was around and he always had a quick and witty remark to make at every occasion. He was full of pranks<br>and jokes and in his younger years was the life of the party.<br>Retired for 23 years, Walter worked in sales as a Steel Sales Representative. He was loyal, hard-working and<br>committed to his job and his family.<br>He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.<br>In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Southlake Regional Health Centre.
