Our mom, Wai Ngo Szeto nee Fung, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones after facing cancer three times. She is remembered by her four children—Mandi (Lloyd), Ning (Jenny), Kit (Carlo), and Young—and her grandchildren: Walter, Joshua, Chloe, Avery, Leighton, and Kalleigh. Born on January 15, 1936, in Ching Yuen, Guangzhou, China, our mom was one of nine siblings. Sixty-two years ago, she met our dad, Tung Fung, in Hong Kong. They shared 57 years of marriage before he passed in 2021.

Our mother was an avid gardener, a scratch card enthusiast, and always up for a game of mahjong. The Chinatown community became her second home, where she was cherished by merchants for her warm demeanor and love for conversation. We are deeply grateful to the nursing staff at Mount Sinai, her favorite hospital, where she found comfort and peace in her final days surrounded by family.
