Wah Yun Ngao, 90, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, after a long and fulfilling life. Born on December 20, 1934, in Hoi Ping, China, he made the life-changing decision in 1969 to leave Hong Kong with his family and build a new life in Canada. His tireless work ethic and selflessness as a provider were the cornerstones of his family's success and happiness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Yue Dan, and their five daughters: Diane (Augustin), Sue (Jacques), Cindy (Charlie), Jane (Allan), and Lana (Warren). He will be deeply missed by his eight grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Gong Gong”: Owen (Misha), Justine (David), Matthew (Misha), Victoria (Richie), Andrew, Alexander, Janelle, and Lauryn. He cherished his three great-grandchildren: Katherine, Eleanor, and Dustin.
His memory will live on through his family, whose lives have been shaped by his devotion to them. His love and unwavering commitment to his family will never be forgotten and will be wholeheartedly missed by all.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Wah Yun’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 23rd at 12:00 to 1:00 pm (Visitation) and 1:00 to 2:00 pm (Funeral) at Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centres 1591 Elgin Mills Rd E, Richmond Hill, ON L4S 1M9.
