<div itemprop="description"> <p> <b> Retired civilian engineer and ex-serviceman Virender Kumar Puri(April 11, 1927-Nov 6th 2011), passed away due to complications of pulmonary fibrosis at York Central Hospital in Richmond Hill. A man of diverse talents, he was an award winning artist, bridge player, CESO (Canadian Executive Services Organization) volunteer, sportsman, amateur actor and director. He was a quiet philanthropist, and tireless volunteer whose efforts to help plan and build&nbsp; cities in Third world countries earned him&nbsp; local honors such as &ldquo;Fai&rdquo; Noble of the City&nbsp; in Kumbo,( Cameroon,West Africa). He lent his skills to projects in Malawi, Guinea, Guyana and was lauded for his efforts by CESO, a non profit organization supported by the Canadian government. He will be greatly missed by his children, Bhuvanesh Puri &amp; Vanita Seth and his four grandchildren Gorav &amp; Isha Seth, Chevy and Sammy Puri, his son-in-law Nawel K. Seth,&nbsp; daughter-in-law Rebecca Puri . He will be missed by his devoted niece Dr&nbsp; Rita Khan and the Khan family, niece Poonam Leger and nephew Uvanesh Puri and the extended family. Last of his siblings&nbsp; of overachievers to leave us, he was predeceased by his younger brother Lt Gen J.K. Puri and older sister Sadhvi Bajpai&nbsp;&nbsp;as well as his wife Bimla Puri. His funeral will be held on the 12th of November at Elgin Mills Cemetery at 1591 Elgin Mills Road, East Richmond Hill starting at 3pm., prayers will be held at the Arya Samaj Temple on </b> <b> 4345 14th Avenue </b> <b> , Markham </b> <b> &nbsp; from 6p.m. onwards.
