It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved aunt, Vera Markovic, nee Mancic, who departed this life on 21 February 2026 at the age of 99.

Known for her unbreakable spirit, Vera overcame significant obstacles to building a life defined by resilience, grace, and achievement. Despite her own challenges, her heart remained set on helping others; she was a beacon of light, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer a listening ear, or provide unconditional support to family, friends, and anyone in need.

She was truly the "rock" of our family, and her generosity touched countless lives. She will be sorely missed, but her legacy of strength and compassion will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her brother Aleksandar and her sister in law Dubravka Mancic, hers Nena, Alex, and Mila, and many other nephews and nieces. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 2 p.m. (visitation from 1-2 p.m.) at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre (160 Beecroft Road, North York), followed by burial.
