Vahe Mardirosian passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, in Richmond Hill, Ontario. He was born on May 7, 1939, in Basra, Iraq, and lived a life defined by devotion to family, community and lifelong learning.
Vahe was the beloved husband of Vergin (née Der Bedrosian), his partner in life for over 53 years. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Tania (Arran), and his son, Shant (Whitney). He was a proud and loving grandfather to three beautiful granddaughters: Sienna, Gia and Milena, who brought him immense joy.
He was the cherished son of his late parents, Azkanoush and Israel Mardirosian, and a dear brother to Shavarsh (Vanouhi), Hrair (Valantin), Hranoush (Partough), Knarik (Varoujan) and Zohrab (Vehanoush). He was also a loving Uncle and held his entire family close to his heart.
Vahe was a dedicated and active member of the Armenian Community Centre in Toronto. He was instrumental in its Grand Opening and proudly served as President, contributing significantly to the strength and unity of the Armenian community.
He studied Electrical Engineering in London, England, a path that led him to work in Scotland and ultimately Toronto, Ontario. There, he built a distinguished career as a Computer Systems Analyst with Ontario Hydro. After retirement, Vahe continued to share his expertise through his own computer consulting firm and as a sessional lecturer at Seneca College where he was awarded “Teacher of the Year” for his patience and dedication to student learning.
Vahe will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, quick sense of humour and remarkable ability to recite capital cities of all countries around the world - a talent that amazed and entertained his family and friends. His wisdom, warmth and gentle presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
While we will miss him terribly, we will continue to move forward and, in his words, "be strong".
