Timothy John McConkey passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital.
Born on August 7, 1946, in Toronto, Tim lived a life defined by service, warmth, and an unshakeable spirit. At the age of 23, he began his career as a firefighter with the North York Fire Department in Toronto - a calling he answered with dedication for 33 remarkable years. Throughout his career, Tim earned the deep respect and admiration of his colleagues, not only for his professionalism, but for the kind of man he was every single day.
Beyond the firehouse, Tim was a man of many passions. He was a devoted longtime member of the Scouting organization, an outdoor enthusiast, and a skilled cabinetmaker - someone who was equally at home in the wilderness or the workshop.
Those who knew Tim knew his smile came easily and his laughter often. Tim had a gift for making people feel at ease - his warmth, open spirit, and quick sense of humour could light up any room.
He is predeceased by his first wife Kathy (Stenson) and his beloved parents Marion and Leonard.
Tim will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Lyubov, his son Michael (Nadyne), his daughter Erin (Adam Brown), his step-daughter Yana, his grandchildren Ewan and James, his sister Melany Smith, his brother-in-law Ian, his nephew Geoff, and his niece Gillian.
Tim left the world a warmer place.
