<div itemprop="description"> <p> <b> Thumby Thomas Lingham (May 11, 1929 &ndash; January 28, 2013) </b> </p> <p> It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our Dad on January 28, 2013 at the age of 83.&nbsp; He was a good and generous Dad whose primary focus was his family.&nbsp; He was devoted caring and spared no effort in ensuring that we had everything we needed.&nbsp;&nbsp; There was nothing he would not have done to help all his children.&nbsp;&nbsp; Even at the end Dad was still asking if he could help.&nbsp; Together with our Mom he encouraged us to dream big and reach for the stars.&nbsp; He instilled in us the value of higher education and it gave him great pleasure to share in the successes of his children.&nbsp; He was a generous and loving father &ndash;in-law to Cathy and John welcoming them warmly into the family.&nbsp; He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Jane of 56 years in 2009.&nbsp; Missing him are his son Russell (Cathy), his daughters Linda and Trudy (John), granddaughters Azure and Zara.&nbsp; He will be sorely missed. Friends may call at ELGIN MILLS CEMETERY &amp; VISITATION CENTRE, 1591 Elgin Mills Rd.E., Richmond Hill (east of Leslie St., 905-737-1720) on Saturday, February 2nd to offer final respects at 2:45&nbsp;p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Community Living Toronto, the Alzheimer Society of Toronto or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. </p> </div>
