Stephanie Jean Hatch
July 6, 1946 - October 19, 2013
Stephanie Jean Hatch (nee Spence) July 6, 1946 - October 19, 2013
Taken too young after a long battle with Alzheimer’s complications, Stephanie has left us heartbroken but richer for having her in our lives. This vivacious woman cared deeply for her family and friends; there could be no greater advocate when Steph was on your side. She will be sadly missed by her loving and dedicated husband Brad, much loved sons Bradley and David (Jennifer Bateman), grandchildren Spencer, Anna and Mira, siblings Calder (Heather Black) and Marian (David McFadden), nieces, nephews, cousins and the Hatch family. She will be especially missed by her cousin Elizabeth Gibson who cared for Stephanie with love, laughter and patience through the last challenging years of her life and by her best friend of over sixty years Carol Wiens. Daughter of the late Billy and Betty Spence, Stephanie grew up in Bennington Heights in Toronto where she attended Leaside High School and met her husband Brad. She made lifelong friendships that gave her hours of fun and enjoyment wherever she went. Stephanie loved dancing in the annual Granite Club Revue and spending time at the cottages in Muskoka and Chandos. We will miss her dearly - her “STYLE” and “PARDON ME” with hands on hips, enjoying a glass of full bodied red wine or a cup of tea. It was always a pleasure to be in her company.
You were everything we loved.
Funeral Service Tuesday October 29 at 1pm with reception to follow at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Visitation Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto [east gate entrance, north of St. Clair Ave., 416-485-5572]. Donations to Providence Villa-Adult Day Program. www.providence.on.ca or charity of your choice.
