<div itemprop="description">MAIZIS, Stella &ndash; Passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4th, 2015.<br /><br />It is with heavy hearts that we say good-bye to our deeply devoted and loving Mother and &ldquo;Yiayia&rdquo;. We will forever be as proud of her as she was of us. She was 90 years young. Nothing fulfilled Stella more than cooking, gardening and knitting, especially when her family could enjoy the end product which was always spectacular.<br />She is predeceased by her husband Konstantine (Gus) Maizis. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her sister and her brother, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well as all those that were fortunate enough to have known her. Stella was the beloved mother of two children, a son and a daughter; Paul Maizis and his wife Sylvia; Dianne Mullen and her husband Gerry. Yiayia felt truly blessed by her grandchildren Lisa Mullen and her husband Mike Arthur, and Ryan and Jennifer Maizis; along with her two great granddaughters Jessica Anderson and Emily Arthur.Stella took great joy in her time spent with her sister Sophie Paskoe and her deceased husband Peter, her brother Jim Dimitriw and his wife Joan.<br />We will forever hold &ldquo;Yiayia&rdquo; in our thoughts, hearts and memories. We will forever be thankful to her for filling our hearts and minds with her humour, stubbornness, sarcasm and stories that will continue to be told by all of us that loved her. <br />The family would like to thank all the nurses, caregivers and staff at LeisureWorld Altamont for the patience and kindness that they demonstrated in caring for our Mother over the last three and half years, with particular appreciation to Danny, Nenita and Christine who never failed to do all they could to keep her comfortable.<br />Friends and family will be received for Visitation at Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre, located at 375 Mount Pleasant Road, in the City of Toronto on Thursday, April 9th from 2-9 pm The Funeral Service will take place at Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre at 11 am on Friday, April in the Chapel. Burial will follow immediately at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. <br /></div>
