It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Stavroula Soupourmas, who left us peacefully on the morning of August 29, 2025.
Born in the village of Agia Paraskevi of Florina, Greece, Stavroula developed resilience shaped by history and hope. In search of opportunity and a better future, she bravely journeyed to Canada where she laid down roots and built a life full of purpose, pride, and love. With unwavering determination she raised a family and went on to grow a successful business — an achievement born of grit and an indomitable spirit. She was a woman of wit and wisdom, known not only for her sharp humour but also for her unforgettable pita, which brought generations together around her table.
Her pride in her heritage was matched only by her devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance that will live on in our hearts. She joins her husband Athanasios for eternal rest. She will be missed by her son Chris (Helen) and daughter Isabella (predeceased by beloved son in law Chris), grandchildren Holly (Louka), Stephanie (Stefan), Tommy (Kirsten), Stephanie, Demetri and Christopher (Cindy) and her great grandchildren Ariadne, Hristo, Gabriella, Lenna and Isla.
She will be dearly missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished.
May her memory be eternal.
