In Loving Memory of Dr. Siavash Imany Pirsaraee

1971 – 2025

Dr. Siavash Imany Pirsaraee passed away peacefully on October 11th, 2025, at 7:01 a.m., at North York General Hospital in Toronto, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous fight with cancer.

Dr. Imany Pirsaraee was a man of many callings, a compassionate physician, a human rights advocate, a writer and librarian, and above all, a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend.

Throughout his medical career, he practiced with dignity, humility, and an unwavering commitment to his oath. He healed countless people and saved lives every day… someone’s mother, father, or child. He never turned away a patient because of money; instead, he welcomed every opportunity to serve, believing that healing was his sacred duty.

Beyond medicine, he carried another remarkable legacy. Under the pen name Bagher Ketabdar (“Baqer the Librarian”), he founded one of the earliest Persian digital libraries, driven by his belief that knowledge should belong to everyone. Through tireless dedication, he personally digitized and shared over 18,000 books, building a global community of readers and thinkers. His work continues to live on through:

Dr. Imany Pirsaraee’s life was defined by wisdom, compassion, and courage. To his family, he was a guiding light, a source of love, laughter, and unwavering support.

He is survived by his beloved wife Farzaneh Mehran, his daughters Helia Imany Pirsaraee and Hana Imany Pirsaraee, his son-in-law Shane Wray, and his brothers Saeid Imany Pirsaraee and Siamak (Reza) Imany Pirsaraee. He will be profoundly missed by his extended family, dear friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

His legacy lives on, in every heart he healed, every book he shared, and every person he inspired.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his light continue to guide us toward compassion, knowledge, and truth.

به یاد دکتر سیاوش ایمانی پیرسرایی

دکتر سیاوش ایمانی پیرسرایی در تاریخ ۱۱ اکتبر ۲۰۲۵، ساعت ۷:۰۱ صبح، در بیمارستان نورت‌یورک جنرال تورنتو، در میان خانواده و عزیزانش، پس از نبردی شجاعانه با بیماری سرطان، با آرامش چشم از جهان فروبست.

او انسانی چندبُعدی بود — پزشکی دلسوز، مدافع حقوق بشر، نویسنده و کتابدار، و در عین حال، همسری فداکار، پدری مهربان، برادری یاری‌گر و دوستی بی‌همتا.

در طول دوران خدمت پزشکی‌اش، با وقار، فروتنی و پایبندی عمیق به سوگند پزشکی خود عمل کرد. او جان‌های بسیاری را نجات داد و هر روز تسکین‌بخش دردهای انسانی بود… مادری، پدری یا کودکی. هرگز بیماری را به‌دلیل ناتوانی مالی رد نکرد، بلکه هر فرصت را برای خدمت مغتنم می‌شمرد، چرا که باور داشت درمان، رسالت مقدس اوست.

فراتر از پزشکی، میراثی ماندگار از خود به‌جا گذاشت. با نام مستعار «باقر کتابدار»، یکی از نخستین کتابخانه‌های دیجیتال فارسی را بنیان گذاشت، از سر ایمان به اینکه دانش باید در دسترس همگان باشد. او با پشتکار خستگی‌ناپذیر، بیش از ۱۸٬۰۰۰ کتاب را شخصاً اسکن و دیجیتالی کرد و در اختیار همگان گذاشت، تا جامعه‌ای جهانی از خوانندگان و اندیشمندان پدید آید. آثار او همچنان از طریق این پیوندها زنده است:

زندگی دکتر ایمانی پیرسرایی با خرد، شفقت و شجاعت معنا یافته بود. برای خانواده‌اش، او نوری راهنما، منبع عشق، لبخند و پشتیبانی همیشگی بود.

او از خود همسری مهربان، فرزانه مهران، دو دختر به‌نام‌های هلیا و هانا ایمانی پیرسرایی، دامادی گرامی، شِین رِی، و دو برادر، سعید و سیامک (رضا) ایمانی پیرسرایی به یادگار گذاشته است. خانواده، دوستان و همه آنان که از حضور او در زندگی‌شان بهره‌مند شدند، همواره دلتنگ او خواهند بود.

میراث او زنده است — در هر دلی که التیام بخشید، در هر کتابی که به اشتراک گذاشت، و در هر انسانی که الهام‌بخش او شد.

روحش در آرامش جاودان بیاساید، و نورش همواره ما را به سوی عشق، دانش و حقیقت رهنمون باشد
