Shrimati Soobramanie

Shrimati (Bevoleen) Chhangur Soobramanie, 71 of Toronto passed away June 11, 2013.
Bev was born to the late Jeffery and Mem Chhangur in 70 village, Guyana on July 8th, 1941. Bev married Arnold Soobramanie on June 7th, 1965, and they lived together in Guyana before moving to Toronto in 1971. Bev became a Canadian citizen in 1977. She gave her heart and soul raising her children and her grandchildren as well as numerous other children from their Parliament St. neighbourhood. Bev’s apartment was the gateway for numerous family and friends immigrating to Toronto from Guyana. Bev was famous for her cooking and baking, she made the best pepper sauce, curry and dahl puri.
Bev was preceded in death by her son Arni Soobramanie of Toronto and her brother Govin Chhangur of London, England.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold Soobramanie; children Robin (Tina) Soobramanie of Beamsville, Jeff Soobramanie of Toronto and daughter-in-law Samantha Soobramanie of Toronto.
Bev is survived by four siblings, Esther (Ram) Ramlagan of England, Norma Chhangur of Toronto, Subhas Chhangur of Toronto, and Swaro (Gulla) Singh of England.
She is survived by four grandchildren; Skye, Jasmine, Rye and Chase Soobramanie as well as numerous nephews and nieces who loved their Auntie Bevo.
