Ryan Michael Stewart was born in Oshawa, Ontario on September 22, 1976, and passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2026, in Toronto, Ontario. His sudden loss has left a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Ryan is dearly missed by his father Ian (Allalie), his mother Judi (Alan), his sister Andrea (Filippo), and his brother Ted. He was a loving uncle to his nieces, Grace and Olivia, who brought him great joy. Ryan was predeceased by his sister Deneane, whom he held close in his heart.
Ryan was a passionate sports fan, loyal to his Toronto Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, and the Buffalo Bills. He followed every game, every rumour, and every trade, often texting back and forth with his father and animatedly discussing plays with his stepfather Alan and his close friend Jeff Franklin. His lifelong dream was to see the Buffalo Bills finally win a Super Bowl. Sports were more than a pastime for Ryan—they were a way to connect, laugh, debate, and share joy with the people he loved.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Ryan found peace in the wilderness. He loved off site camping and often ventured deep into the woods, hiking or canoeing into remote areas across Ontario and Nova Scotia. Whether setting up a tent far from civilization or spending days immersed in nature, he was never alone—his loyal dog Nigel was always by his side.
Ryan embraced life with curiosity and openness. He was always willing to try something new, from salsa dancing to darts, and he taught himself to play the guitar, becoming quite adept. He worked hard over several years to earn his Canadian Securities certification, enhancing his career skills and reflecting his determination and perseverance.
Known for his love of conversation and his infectious laugh, Ryan cherished his family and his many friends, including those he held close from his school days. To his mother, he was her sunshine—a constant source of light, warmth, and love.
Ryan will be remembered for his spirited passions, his adventurous soul, and the deep connections he formed with those around him. He leaves behind countless memories that will be cherished forever.
