It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our son Ryan Oehrlein at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital on June 3, 2026 in his 27th year.
Ryan brought joy, laughter, and love to all who knew him. He possessed a kind and generous spirit, an infectious smile, and a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Whether speaking with lifelong friends or complete strangers, Ryan made everyone feel valued and respected.
Ryan's passion and dedication led him to excel in gymnastics. He proudly represented Canada as a member of the Senior Men's National Gymnastics Team and competed nationally and internationally, earning the admiration of teammates, coaches, and competitors alike. He was especially recognized for his strength and skill on the rings, where his determination and talent shone brightly.
Whatever Ryan attempted, he gave it 100% whether it was in gymnastics, on his BMX tricks & spins, screenprinting, or sewing his own clothes, he gave it his all.
Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Ryan was known for his compassion. He often reached out to those who were struggling, offering friendship, encouragement, and practical help whenever he could. His generosity touched countless lives.
Ryan had future plans on branding his logo "AUSDAUER" and his tag "RKO "
In one final act of selflessness, Ryan became an organ donor. Through his donation, six lives were saved and transformed, including two young children who received his kidneys. His legacy of kindness and giving will continue through those he helped.
Ryan will be missed in the gymnastics community by many friends and acquaintances he met while competing and he will be missed by his friends at the Georgetown skateboard parks.
Thank you Coach Nistor Sandro and Coach Zhao Hui Huang for years of dedicated support in Ryan's training.
Ryan's beloved Frenchie, Marvin will forever miss him.
