Ruth Irene Roduck
August 21, 1939 - February 5, 2026
With love and gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Ruth Roduck, 86, of Toronto, Ontario who passed peacefully, surrounded by family on February 5, 2026 at Scarborough Centenary Hospital.
Born on August 21, 1939 in Toronto, Ontario daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Hedley) Myers of Belfast, Ireland. Ruth lived a life defined by love and devotion to family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and an abundant source of comfort and wisdom to all who knew her. She truly was one of a kind.
Ruth was united in marriage to her husband, Gordon (Gordy) Roduck, who preceded her in death. Their life together was marked by everlasting love, partnership, and friendship. She carried his memory in her heart always, and they can finally be at peace together.
She leaves her daughter Lisa Anne (and son in-law Tony Bouquillon), three beloved grandchildren Erik, Lily, and Sophie, her best friend Bart Catania, and many other dear friends who will remember her kindness, compassion, loving demeanor, laughter, wit, and guidance.
Ruth spent her early years in Toronto, growing up at Harbour and Spadina. As the youngest of 10, she was closest with her late sisters Barbara (Myers) Trappell and Bette (Myers) Merrithew who are surely waiting for her. At 16, her Gordy swept her off her feet and they were married shortly after she turned 18. She spent the majority of her life in the Beaches where they had their beloved daughter Lisa Anne, who Ruth held dearly as her greatest achievement in life. Ruth was passionate in her role as office manager for a real estate agency, where she worked until the beginning of the pandemic. In doing what she loved, she met her life long friend, Bart. There was never a moment that they weren't laughing together.
Ruth was unapologetically herself. She was often the biggest personality in the room, and always the best dressed. She could turn heads, and was not afraid to share a good joke with a nice glass of white wine. She loved nothing more than her little furry friend Olive and her three loving grandchildren: Erik, Lily and Sophie. She was so proud of the people they had become and was grateful watching them grow. She spent the final years of her life at Venvi Guildwood Retirement Living. She was an animal lover and avid reader with a warm-hearted spirit. She will be missed by all that knew her.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Venvi Guildwood Retirement Living and Scarborough Centenary Hospital for the compassionate care, kindness, and support shown to Ruth during her time there. Your dedication and love will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ruth to Alzheimer Society and the Toronto Humane Society.
