With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ronnie Persad, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many, who left us too soon on November 26, 2025, at the age of 48. Ronnie was born in San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago on March 31, 1977, as the eldest son to Radhica and Robbie Persad. Ronnie’s life was a testament to generosity, quiet strength, and a heart that always had room for others.
Ronnie built a life rooted in hard work and humility. He began his career at the Toronto Transit Commission in 2001 as Programmer Analyst and through dedication and determination rose to the role of Director of the Information Security Office. He was proud of the work he accomplished and the people he met along the way. Though he excelled in his professional achievements, Ronnie often said nothing mattered more than the home he built with his wife, Loveena.
To Ronnie, family was everything. His daughters Aysia, Zaiya, and Neysa were the centre of his world. He filled their lives with adventure: long road trips with music playing loud, camping weekends under the stars and countless small, joyful moments that became treasured family stories. Ronnie believed in showing love through presence, support and his girls grew up knowing their father was their biggest fan.
Ronnie is survived by his devoted wife, Loveena; his cherished daughters, Aysia, Zaiya, and Neysa; his loving parents, Radhica and Robbie; sisters, Ronda and Natasha; brother, Roger; nephews Christopher and Tyson; parents-in-law, Eric and Molly Tauro; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, colleagues, and community members who were touched by his warmth, generosity and kindness.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4th, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm or 6:00 to 8:00 pm, a celebration of life at 6:30 pm. At Ronnie’s request, the family kindly asks in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Ronnie’s name to Nankind and Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.
Ronnie lived life without worrying, and believed that “Everything will be OK”, his inspiration from Bob Marley’s song, “Three Little Birds”. Ronnie’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His presence, his smile and laughter, and his immense capacity to love will be deeply missed and are forever reflected in his three darling daughters.
