Tragically, my loving dad was struck by a car on November 6th, 2014. He fought bravely for five days at Sunnybrook Hospital under the diligent care of the nurses and doctors present there. Unfortunately, he passed away peacefully in a deep sleep on November 11th, 2014, "Remembrance Day".

Ronald Joseph Robertson was born in Sambalpur in the state of Orissa, India. His father was of American descent and his mother was an Anglo-Indian from Kolkata (Calcutta). He was blessed to be the only brother of five sisters. He graduated from two boarding schools in Bhubaneswar and Calcutta. He acquired his certification in Heating, Ventilation, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning from Datamatics in Calcutta. While he was doing this he worked as a secretary at Loyola High School for five years. There he met the love of his life Maria, my mom.

My dad started his actual career in Saudi Arabia as a Maintenance Supervisor at Algosaibi Hotel. My parents then got married on December 30th, 1984. In course of time they were blessed with two wonderful children, Shane and Sharlene. After spending five happy years together in Saudi Arabia we made our move to Canada.

In Canada my dad was lucky to get a job in his field right away at Temspec. After working there for three years he joined the maintenance team at Doubletree Hilton Hotel (Metropolitan Hotel). He decided to upgrade himself by taking some courses at George Brown College. While juggling all of this, he started working at The Holiday Inn Hotel on June, 2014. He was well-liked and adored by all of his colleagues.

My dad was a generous, cheerful, hard working and loving husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife and children. The Visitation will be held on November 21st, 2014 at Simple Alternative Funeral Home (the address is provided below). The Funeral Mass will be held on November 22nd, 2014 at Cristo Rei Parish (the address is provided below).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There will be a private cremation a few hours after the Mass, which is ONLY TO BE ATTENDED BY IMMEDIATE FAMILY.

The inurnment of the ashes is on Saturday, November 29th, 2014 at Assumption Cemetery, which is located at 6933 Tomken Rd, Mississauga,
Ontario L5T 1N4. It will take place at 2:30 p.m. Kindly be there by 2:15 p.m.

Kindly e-mail at this address and confirm your attendance:
rrobertsonm@yahoo.com
