RONALD DIXON RAY August 8, 1930 –June 21, 2013
Passed away peacefully on June 21, 2013 from complications due to cancer.
Ron was a loving husband to his wife of 59 years, Cathy, devoted father to Leslie (John Welwood), Ian (Linda) and David and a doting and proud grandfather to David, Jamie, Tyler and Lauren. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Roe of Woodstock, Ga.
Born in Walkerville, Ontario (Windsor), Ron (University of Western Ontario HBA ’54) was a salesman, entrepreneur (RDR Packaging), past President of The Don Mills Civitan Club, member of the Golden K Kiwanis of Don Mills, and lover of bagpipe music and big band music, particularly Guy Lombardo. A proud and dedicated Presbyterian, Ron was an elder for 52 years and Clerk of Session for 26 years at St Mark's Presbyterian Church. His favourite vacation place for the past 57 years was the cottage on Lake Huron near Kincardine. He will be remembered by all who knew him as someone who brought joy and laughter to every situation and also as a wonderful and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Ron's family are grateful for the wonderful care he received from Dr. Flax and the staff at North York General Hospital.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday July 6, 2013 at St Mark's Presbyterian Church, 1 Greenland Road, North York, Ontario. Visitation will be at St Mark's Friday, July 5, 2013
from 7 – 9 p.m.
