Rodney Hanifen
July 7, 1987 - November 14, 2014
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Rodney on November 14/14. He was born in Toronto on July 7, 1987 to Terry and Mary Susan (Dunn) Hanifen. Rodney had a true sense of family even as a small child and loved getting “back East” to visit his many friends and family members in Nova Scotia. He enjoyed spending time with his niece Emily and nephew Owen and was so proud to be a “hockey uncle”. Rodney had a wide circle of friends who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his brothers, Terrence and Darin (Erin), niece Emily, nephew Owen, aunts Ava (Rick) Henye, Angie Dunn, Toronto, Mary (Connie) Beaton, Anne (Wayne) MacDougall, Vivian (Wayne) Giffin, Donna (John) Robertson, Jacqueline (John) Vosman; uncles Eddie (Willena) Hanifen, Joe (Annette) Hanifen, Jack (Kim) Hanifen, Jim (Roseanne) Hanifen, Bernard (Jan) Hanifen, Robert Hanifen all of Nova Scotia; Godfather Ralph and Eileen Rogers who cared for him as their own; as well as many cousins who loved him more as a brother than a cousin. Rodney was predeceased by his parents Terry and Mary Susan Hanifen, maternal grandparents, John and Mary Dunn, Toronto, paternal grandparents, Anselm and Marie Hanifen, Erinville, Nova Scotia, uncle Brady Dunn, cousin Derek Beaton. Visitation will be at the York Cemetery and Visitation Centre, 160 Beecroft , Toronto on Sunday, November 23/14 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM where funeral service will be held on Monday, November 24/14 at 10:00AM
