Robert Parisi
July 8, 1958 - February 26, 2016
Robert (Bob) Eduardo Parisi, 57, Richmond Hill, Ontario, died peacefully at Southlake Hospital on February 26, 2016. He was most fortunate to have been with many close friends and beloved family before dying in the early morning hours. He had struggled for 17 years with Multiple Sclerosis and faced many challenges.
Bob was born in New York, New York in 1958. He was the first North American born of a South American family. He lived and was educated in the borough of Suffolk County (Long Island, NY) and Montreal, Quebec, Canada. In his early years he worked in retail and delivery services as well as sales promotions. His last position was with the Bank of Nova Scotia until his disability ended his work life.
At the age of 29, Bob married Anna (nee Turchiaro) Parisi. They had 2 children, son, Robert (now age 25) and daughter, Toni (now age 18). They have been the light of his life. Bob was a loving and dedicated father to his children. Robert is currently studying Early Childhood Education in Toronto, and Toni is studying Liberal Arts at Queen’s University, Kingston. Anna continues to reside in Richmond Hill and works in production as well as her own business. Bob is survived by his wife and children, his mother, Lori, and sister, Pat (and partner, Les). He is predeceased by his father Ed (d. 1993). The Turchiaro Family (Raffaele, Gina, Torindo and wife Carol. Della and husband Patrick, Frank) took Bob into their embrace and he had a warm, loving and lasting family in them. He was a great uncle to his children’s cousins, Bianca, Stefano, and Patrick.
Bob loved the music of Ella Fitzgerald, Al Jarreau and Chicago. He was a huge Trekkie and loved everything about Star Trek. He was fervent about his Apple technology. Ever irascible, he was passionate about the United States and US politics. He had a strong relationship with his Facebook MS community where he both received and gave support.
