OFFER, Robert (Bob) John

We bid farewell to our father March 27, 2012, in his 75th year. His surviving children Cassie (David) Rawlinson of Toronto, Jason (Kelly) of Fergus, and Michele of Toronto, and daughter-in-law Donna of Kitchener will remember and share his life with his grandchildren Sarah, Matthew, Meghan, Graham, Eric, Caitlyn, Maxine, Nicholas, Rachel and Calum, his great-granddaughters Emma, Alexis, Haylie and Kendyl, and his cousins Jon, Doreen, Margaret, Doug and Stephen. Predeceased by his eldest son Robert John, granddaughter Lyndal, his beloved Aunts Rosie, Dora, Annie, and Olga, and uncles Tommy, Roy and Percy. The son of Mary Offer (Makarenko) and grandson of Nicolas and Anne, Bob was born in New Toronto, moved to Alderwood, then settled in Longbranch, always within walking distance of The Lakeshore and Flextile (Flintkote) where he was a 49 year employee. Bob was an avid shuffleboard and dart player, representing both The Eastwood Hotel and The Moose Lodge at tournaments over the years. Pool and cards were also played for fun, and he excelled at both. We will miss him.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Unitarian Church, 84 South Service Road, Mississauga. Remembrances will be shared at 1:00pm followed by a gathering. Our father has been cremated as he always wished. For those wishing to honour our father or express condolences to the family, a donation to CAMH, The Kids Help Line in your community, or an environmentally related organization believing in sustainability would be in keeping with his beliefs.
