It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Kent McLellan, aged 73, on July 2nd, 2026, a beloved husband, brother, son, friend and devoted dog lover.
Kent grew up in London, Ontario and graduated from the University of Toronto. He built a long and successful career with Xerox, followed by roles with IBM and Fujitsu Canada.
Music was the heartbeat of Kent's life. He was an accomplished musician who played drums in multiple bands and performed saxophone on stage, as well as playing guitar. Beyond his own artistry, he was our family's music historian - someone who could spend hours immersed in the stories behind songs and the lives of musicians across all genres. His love of music was woven into everything he did.
Above all, Kent treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Wendy, his brothers Mark and Jeff, and his mother Phyllis. He was predeceased by his father Bob. He and Wendy shared a life filled with music, laughter, travel, and joy - their dogs were their children and an integral part of their family. Kent was also blessed with treasured friendships, particularly with Paul Desjardins and his wife Gail.
In his final moments, Kent was surrounded by Wendy, his brother Mark, Paul, and Gail - a fitting tribute to the love and connection that defined his life.
He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love that will remain with all who knew him. He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
