Robert "Bob" Joseph Sheppard
September 8, 1937 - October 29, 2015
SHEPPARD (Godin), Robert "Bob" Joseph - Went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Born on September 8, 1937 in Coniston, Ontario. Only son of predeceased parents, Florence Lauzon (née Desforges) and Roderick Godin, both of Cache Bay, Ontario. Stepson to George Sheppard and Wilfrid Lauzon, both predeceased. Loving father to Denise (Ken), Sue (Jim), Bob (Tracy), Karen (Ralph) and Diane. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Shari, James, Jessica and Joshua, great-grandchild Mia and godchild Tyra Lafond. He will be greatly missed by all his nieces and nephews, cousins, students and friends. The congregation at Paroisse St. Marc in Markstay, Ontario where he was a devout member, will remember him for his wit, kindness, generosity and above all his music that he provided with Claudette Hutman (predeceased). A proud brother who is survived by his sisters Audrey (Roger) and Linda (Al). Predeceased by his sisters Jean (Chuck), Christine and brother-in-law Ken. Bob was a long-time volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society (Sudbury) and Home Support (St. Charles) and delivered food for the needy, regardless of the weather. His love of nature and fishing will always be imbedded in our hearts. A special thanks to his nurse, Elizabeth and the PSWs. Especially Nicole of Saint Elizabeth and to the caring staff of Altamont Care Community. Bob's family would like to acknowledge a heartfelt thanks to all the friends and family who sent well wishes, cards and visits. He so appreciated the prayers, love and care conveyed. Visitation to be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 5-9 at the MOUNT PLEASANT VISITATION CENTRE, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto (east gate entrance) Funeral Mass at Paroisse St. Marc in Markstay on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. Burial at St. Mark's Cemetery in Markstay with a reception to follow.
