Rob passed away suddenly on September 19, 2025 in Penticton, BC at the age of 60. Loving father of Meixi and Jinnie Semple and husband to Jane Meadus. Will be missed by his father Andy, stepmother Pauline, brother Kevin (Kelly), stepbrother Frank Rajnai (Mandy), in-laws Mary and Weldon Meadus, sisters-in-law Marianne Walli (Ron), Melissa, brother-in-law Gordon (Sue), and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his beloved mother Carol. Rob was a graduate of Runnymede Collegiate Institute and was involved in sports both in and out of school, playing football, baseball, softball and hockey. Rob attended Ryerson University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management. Rob spent many hours with his daughters Meixi and Jinnie, driving them to and from gymnastics and dance, attending competitions and shows, and was so proud of their accomplishments both there and in school. Rob became an Iowa State Cyclone fan when Meixi attended ISU, following the team and watching the players as they went into the NFL. Rob loved to cook and was best known by his family for his special Sunday breakfasts. Rob’s cooking passion was smoking on his Big Green Egg where he brined and smoked holiday turkeys! Rob was a hot sauce connoisseur and loved a heat challenge - making his way through the heat challenge at his local ramen restaurant (despite them trying to dissuade him from trying the highest level!). A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025; 1 pm visitation, 2 pm service; 3-5 pm reception, at Thornton Funeral Centre, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke or the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
