DR. ROBERT DOUGLAS
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Burton Manor, Brampton on October 27, 2013 at the age of 76. Survived by Maureen his beloved wife of 51 years. Loving father of Pamela (Marc Hofley) and Iain. Proud grandfather of Katherine, Carolyn and Brooke. Dear brother of George. Born in Scotland, Bob graduated from the Medical School of Glasgow University in 1961 and immigrated to Canada with his wife and young family in 1969. Bob held a diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and was a Member of both the Royal and the Canadian Colleges of Family Physicians. He was a partner in the Queen Square Doctors and a member of the staff of Peel Memorial Hospital, Brampton until his premature retirement due to Parkinson’s disease in1998. The family is very appreciative of the compassionate care that Bob received from the staff of Burton Manor. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada or to the food bank of St. Andrew’s Church, Brampton would be appreciated.
Friends may call at Meadowvale Cemetery, Crematorium and Mausoleum, 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, Ontario L6Y 5L5 on Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held the following day Friday, November1st at 1:00 p.m. For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit etouch.ca.
