Robert Howard McPherson passed away suddenly on January 22, 2026, at the age of 93.

Bob was born in Toronto, where he began his career as a salesman. In 1970, he became a Real Estate Broker in Markham and later worked throughout the Durham Region.

Bob was the father of Sue Vandittelli (late Joe), Maryanne Leishman (Bob), John McPherson (Lorenzo DeNoble), David McPherson, and Paula McAuliffe (Ken). He was predeceased by his children, Maureen, Elizabeth, and Charlie. He was the proud grandfather of Kristina, Josh, and Phillip, and predeceased by his granddaughter Amy Saunders.

He is survived by his sister Margaret Weir (late Bob) and brother Paul McPherson (late Carol) and was predeceased by his sisters Joan Speight (late Edward) and Marlene Parker (late Bob). Bob was also predeceased by his wives, Maureen McPherson (Prescott) and Janet Tisdale. He was the partner of Claudia Sands for 26 years and uncle to many Prescott and McPherson nieces and nephews.

Bob was a longtime friend of Bill W.

Remembering the Life of Robert McPherson will be held at The Simple Alternative, located at 1057 Brock Road, Pickering, Ontario, on February 11 2026 at 12pm. Visitation will begin at 10am, followed by the service at 12pm.

Interment to follow at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Virginia, Ontario, at a later date.
