It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father. Dad was born in Bydgoszcz, Poland and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was ten years old. They settled in the Roncesvalles area of Toronto and he attended Humberside Collegiate Institute, where he enjoyed sports and mathematics. Dad later joined the Metro Toronto Police Force, quickly attaining the nickname “Rosie” to match his colourful reputation. Over the next 25 years he also worked in the capacity of detective and plain clothes officer, during which time his passion and tenacity earned him various accolades and interesting stories. Dad’s adventurous nature led him on countless trips throughout the United States and Mexico. He enjoyed taking road trips with his kids and friends, always bringing along his treasured Nikon to snap hundreds of pictures. Dad also loved to read, cook, blast his music and work on crosswords while watching baseball; he was an avid Blue Jays fan. He left us peacefully at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto after a brief illness and will be profoundly missed. Cremation has occurred. A celebration of life and interment will take place separately in the near future. We wish to express our appreciation to the staff of St. Michael’s Hospital.
