It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Douglas McBride on April 19, 2026, at the age of 86. Surrounded by love, Ray made his journey to the "Spirit in the Sky" to reunite with his beloved brother, Don McBride, and his parents, Jack and Estelle McBride.
Ray was born on September 9, 1939, and spent his entire life in East York, Toronto. He shared his home and his life with his beloved wife, Lorea McBride, and Bridgitte, one of the many cherished cats they loved over the years.
Ray dedicated much of his life to his work. For the last 20 years, he worked at Jamac Sales alongside his late brother, Don and more recently his niece Jasmine. He took immense pride in what he did and valued the friendships, laughter, and camaraderie he built throughout his career.
Outside of work, Ray had many passions. He had a lifelong love of cars and took meticulous care of every vehicle he owned. In his younger years, he enjoyed sailing aboard Risky Business, the sailboat he shared with Don and his best friend, Andy Lough. Together, they spent countless days on the water, sharing drinks, laughter, and memories that would last a lifetime.
When Ray wasn't at the office, you could find him in Florida sharing a cold drink on the beach with his family and friends, or playing games in the pool with his grandchildren.
Ray's true gift was his ability to make people laugh. His childlike sense of fun kept him forever young and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lorea, his children, Douglas, Billy, and Susie (Craig) and his grandchildren, Billy Jr., Ryan, Matthew, Collin, and Allie. He will also be remembered by his Jamac family, friends, and all whose lives were brightened by his humour and kindness.
We would like to invite anyone who wishes to celebrate Ray's full and wonderful life to join his family at Pine Hills Funeral Centre and Cemetery on Sunday, June 28 any time between 1:00 till 3:00 p.m.
