With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved Ramzi Jabra Fahel, who passed peacefully surrounded by family at Lakeridge Health Ajax Hospital on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025 at the age of 81.
Ramzi was born in Jaffa, Palestine to Jabra and Sofia Fahel. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather whose warmth and wisdom touched everyone he met. Proud of his Palestinian roots, Ramzi carried his heritage in his heart and spoke often of his love for his homeland of Palestine. His stories and traditions brought the family together and taught the importance of identity and standing up for what is right.
He worked in many roles throughout his life—from shoemaking and construction to driving limousine and owning taxi medallions. His hard work and dedication showed his resilience and his unwavering commitment to providing for his family. Above all, he loved his family and always ensured they had what they needed.
With a passion for sports, Ramzi loved watching games and cheering for his favorite hockey team, the Montreal Canadiens. He also enjoyed the great outdoors and spending time with family and friends, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and love.
Ramzi will be remembered for his kindness and his compassion for others. He had a heart that welcomed everyone and a spirit that lifted those around him.
Ramzi is survived by his wife Raghda, who he shared 37 wonderful years with; his beloved children, Gabriel (Christina), Stephanie (Patrick), and Fady; and his cherished grandchildren, Gabriella, Cruz, and Nolan. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers Wajdy (Beatrice), Shawky (Kathie), and Awny (Marlen). Ramzi joins his parents, Jabra and Sofia, and his brother Issa in eternal rest, while his sister-in-law Danielle continues to hold his memory close. His memory will live on in the hearts of his nephews and nieces along with extended family around the world, dear friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
Family and friends will be received at Thornton Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa on Sunday, December 21st, 2025 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will also be held at Thornton Cemetery and Funeral Centre on Monday, December 22nd, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Following the mass, all guests are welcome to join the family for a celebration of life at Jerusalem Restaurant, 4777 Leslie Street, North York, where we will gather to share memories, stories, and celebrate Ramzi’s life.
