RALPH COLIN ELLIS, C.M., O.Ont.
In his 92nd year, cherished husband, father and grandfather, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, on April 24, 2016.
He is survived by the love of his life for 64 years, the former Eleanor Stinson; his children, Stephen, Cathy; his grandchildren, Robyn, Adrian, Alexandra (Bonham) and Cayman (Bonham). Pre-deceased by his parents, Frank and Ida and his six siblings.
Ralph was a true gentleman, proud Canadian, and pioneering independent film and TV producer, with a big heart, overactive funny bone and passion for life.
A prolific nature and family program producer with a 38 year body of work broadcast worldwide in many languages.
A member of the Order of Canada (1997) and the Order of Ontario (1997), he was also recognized for lifetime achievement by the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (2006), Broadcast Executives Society (2002), the Children’s Broadcast Institute (1990).
A private family ceremony is being held April 30th at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre.
