It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Pik Har Yuen on September 28th, 2012 in the 79th year of her blessed life. Betty passed away suddenly at Scarbourgh Grace Hospital surrounded by those who were dearest to her heart; devoted and loving wife to King Gen Yuen; Caring and loving mother to Sally (her partner Carle) Nellie Chai, Elaine and Alex (his partner Cheryl); adored and loving Grandmother to Harrison and Olivia.
Born in Hoi Ping Guangdong, China, Betty came to Canada in 1959 to be matched and married to her loving husband and soul mate for 52 years. She settled in Collingwood raising a family while working side by side with her husband in their own business, The Bamboo Terrace Restaurant for 36 successful and memorable years.
In her years of retirement, she resided with her husband in Scarborough in her Chinese community close to her loving family, relatives, and dear circle of friends.
Her beautiful smile, her social grace, her everyday loving spirit was felt by all who came into contact with her. In each facet and stage of her life, she made friends easily. Loved by many, adored by all who truly knew this remarkable woman, her generosity, kindness, inspiration, goodwill, and hugely loving heart will be sadly and greatly missed.
