Philip Wynn McNalley
January 6, 1959 to December 4, 2024
Philip was born January 6, 1959 in Napanee Ontario. He was a traveler, never a tourist and this was likely borne from the numerous places he lived, his dad a preacher and a large loving family. His family moved to Texas in 1967, to Memphis Tennessee, Ohio, and then Toronto in 1973.
In 1975 Philip’s family moved to Whitby Ontario, where his father ministered at Grace Cathedral and the family lived in the church manse. Philip completed high school at Henry St high school, and then moved to Toronto.
He held various administrative positions in the insurance industry, and then in 1990 he relocated to BC. He worked for the BC ferries for a number of years, advancing in the area of training where his engaging personality and bright mind was well suited at the front of a classroom. He had a beautiful home on the coast in Victoria, and eventually he moved to Vancouver where he worked for Fincentric in a training capacity.
In 2006 he returned to Toronto and continued his career in training, with B2B and Laurentian bank. He took his certifications as a trainer, project management as well as pedagogy (the development of courses) in the financial industry. He spent his semi-retirement working at the LCBO. He spoke so highly of his friends at work and the social aspect. He really enjoyed it.
Philip had travelled to many exotic locales in his twenties. By this time he had settled on Puerto Vallarta, where he travelled numerous times a year with his lifelong friends, Glen Peers and Kate Lane, and a myriad of others who loved Philip and the same special spot.
Philip is predeceased by his mother Ruth McNalley, and his father Alfred McNalley. He is lovingly remembered by Eileen McNalley and her daughter Sonia.
His brothers and sisters, Glenda McNalley (pre deceased), Helen and Rudy (pre deceased) Becton, Ron and Vicki McNalley, Neil and Glenda McNalley, and the nieces and nephews: Alicia, Arlen, Ryan, Melissa, Shauna, Amanda, Shawn and David.
Philip will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, his close friends Catherine, Kate, Glen and Lynn; and by his lifetime partner Bernard. Loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
A celebration of life will be held on July 5, 2025 11:00 AM at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, North York, ON. M2N 1W7
