Philip Cheuk Hung Lau passed away at age 61 in his home in Scarborough Ontario during the early evening on November 4th, 2015. He was surrounded by loved ones and remained strong even until his last breath when the fight against cancer took his life away. Philip was born in Hong Kong on November 10th 1953, and was the youngest of four siblings. Later in life, he married Winnie, his high school sweetheart on June 18th 1976 in the city of Paramaribo in Suriname, the same country where his own father was born in South America. There, Philip and Winnie started a family, and is now survived by his wife, along with their four children Jennifer, Cynthia, Yvette, and Elton. To his legacy and branch of family tree, Philip also has 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.

He was a simple and selfless man. He dedicated most of his life towards work in support of his family. He had a great passion for food, but above all, he held the most joy when cooking food for others. Philip was very popular and had many friends, literally everywhere. He spoke several languages, all from which he learned in his younger years when travelling in different parts of the world. He loved to socialize, and most often than not, you would find him drifting away at a conversation with complete strangers. He carried a light heart and always had a sense of humor.
