Peter Victor Louis Hanna
February 20, 1940 - September 30, 2014
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Victor Louis Hanna (February 20, 1940 - September 29, 2014). He passed away suddenly. He was the loving father of Sean (Winnie) and April (Jeff) and the proud grandfather of Claire and Charlotte. Visitation will take place at the Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount, Scarborough on Monday October 6th from 6pm -9pm. The funeral will be held at the same location on Tuesday October 7th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospital for Sick Children would be greatly appreciated.
Peter and his family, parents Samuel and Maureen, sisters Jill (Purdy) & Joan (Cridland/Touffaha), emigrated to Canada from England in the late 1950's. Peter was a successful radio advertising salesman and fondly remembered his days at CHFI. Above all else, he loved his family. He was a loving son, father, grandfather and "inlaw". His quick wit, friendly approach, and great sense of humour were addictive, and will be remembered and greatly missed. He always had a story for everything and was full of trivia. He loved music and the theatre, and could always be heard whistling or humming a tune. He was very well read, fairly self taught, and had a knack for being able to learn and master pretty much anything, from sailing to home repair, from investing to cooking up some delicious dishes.
Please take a minute and share any positive and enlightening memories you have of Peter, so that we may honour him, and share them all with the grandchildren (Charlotte and Claire) that he loved so much in years to come.
