Peggy Pui Kuen Tong
December 17, 1935 - April 30, 2016
Early in the morning of April 30th, 2016, she heard His voice “ Come to me Peggy, you are weary and heavy burdened, I will give you rest”
The family of Peggy Pui Kuen Tong, with sorrow, announces her passing after a courageous battle with cancer. Peggy was born December 17, 1935 in Yuen Ping, China, and after coming to Canada was married for 55 years to her beloved and devoted husband Lawrence Yuk Tin Tong. She is also survived by her three loving children; Alex and his wife Karen, Eva and her husband Harvey, and Steve and his wife May. She adored beyond measure her eight grandchildren; Montana, Sarah, Morgan, Keaton, Emily, Jonah, Emma and Caleb. She will also be missed dearly by her surviving elder sister Huen Pui Shung, her loyal and caring nephew Hip Hop Huen and his wife Elsie along with their children Sammy,(Pauline) and Kenny (Aarin) and many, many other nephews and nieces, family and friends. A very heartfelt thank you to the nurses, doctors and pharmacy staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital as well as Dale’s Pharmacy for their loving care and kindness. A special mention to Dr. Mateya Trinkaus, Dr. Alan Monavvari, Dr. Andrew Patterson, Dr. Emily Lam, Tanya Dube, and nurses Sinny of the Pain and Symptoms clinic, Jessica from St Elizabeth’s and Andrea on 2 Center who made Peggy’s final months and days more comfortable. The family would also like to mention in appreciation the church family at The Bridge Markham for their prayers and support during this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pain and Symptoms Clinic c/o Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
