<div itemprop="description">Hardie: Dr. Nena [September 7, 1941&nbsp;- September 30, 2011] It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Nena Elizabeth Hardie on Friday at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. A gentle and wonderful soul who will be greatly missed. Although Nena was born in Toronto, she was raised in Hamilton. She leaves behind her sister Pamela, her brother Daniel and sister-in-law Barbara, her cherished daughter Liz, her son-in-law Stefan, and her dear granddaughter Emma. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews Bruce and Leslie, Sarah and Aaron, Philip and Jun, and Shannon; and her great nieces and nephews Spencer, Devin, Zohar, Molly and Angela. Nena is also predeceased by her great friend Carl. Nena received her doctorate from York University where she continued to lecture for many years. She was a Registered Psychologist and conducted a successful private practice where she specialized in SandPlay Therapy. Her interests were in painting, music, reading, her love of the Annex Neighbourhood [especially the trees], and her very magical place in Mulmur. A celebration of her life will be held at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Visitation Centre, 375 Mt. Pleasant Road, Toronto [east gate entrance, north of St. Clair Ave., 416-485-5572] on Saturday October 8, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Michael's Hospital, MS ICU Unit or to the Annex Trees Please Group would be appreciated.</div>
