Nancy Ruth Abbott
July 1, 1954 - December 26, 2013
Nancy Ruth Abbott, born July 01, 1954, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 26, 2013.
Nancy leaves behind a bright legacy in her son, Matthew Hiebert. Matthew was the light of her life and she has always been there for him. She wraps her angelic wings around him now to watch over him.
Predeceased by her parents Donald and June Abbott, Nancy, the older of two children also leaves her sister, Diane (Michael) Keefe and her niece and nephew, Sean and Sarah. Nancy will also be missed by her Abbott and Rayner aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nancy was a special woman who touched so many lives. She was a loving, gentle and kind soul, always thinking about others and always there if you needed her. She was a great listener and loved her dear friends who were family to her as well. She loved her family to distraction and was generous to a fault. She will also be missed by her four-legged companion, Finnegan who was always by her side. Nancy’s extended ‘family’ in the travel industry will also feel her loss.
She loved to spend time shopping and enjoyed her annual girl’s weekend jaunts to Buffalo. Shoes were her weakness and purses to match were a close 2nd!
Nancy fought a dignified and courageous battle with cancer and we would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Mississauga and Queensway Trillium Centres. Their compassion during Nancy’s care was extraordinary and made this difficult journey an easier road to travel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Golden Rescue League, the Ontario Veterinary Pet Trust Fund or the charity of your choice.
