Nancy Pui Yee Ing passed peacefully on September 24, 2025 at Markham Stouffville Hospital after a tough battle with Dementia and Spinocerebellar Ataxia. She was 77 years old.

Nancy was born May 28, 1948 in Taishan, China and arrived in Canada in March of 1969, marrying Richard Kon Jong Ing the following year in Cobourg. Together they built a wonderful life together in Peterborough first with a convenience store and later a successful restaurant for over 25 years. They eventually retired in Markham to be close to their grandchildren. After beating breast cancer, Nancy was able to travel the world with Richard having visited over 20 countries in their retirement years before her Ataxia and Dementia began to set in, limiting her mobility.

Nancy is survived by her husband Richard and 3 Children: John Frank Ing and partner Maryia Leuchanka, Margaret Joan Ing and Sandra Ing and husband Alfred Ng; and grandchildren: Madeleine Eleanor Ji Yuen Ing, Parker Conrad Ga Wai Ing, Ethan Riley Sebastian Kunce, Carson Bailey Kunce and Justyn Noah Ng.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be conducted on Monday, September 29th at York Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted (before Sunday, September 28th at 4 PM), or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society
