It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Murdena MacDonald (née MacNeil) on October 26, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born in Big Beach, Nova Scotia, Murdena made her home in Scarborough, Ontario, where she spent most of her life before moving to Pickering in recent years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill MacDonald, with whom she shared many wonderful years.
Murdena will be forever loved and remembered by her children Colleen, Heather, and Ken (Laurie); her grandchildren Heidi Caddoo (Richard), Ryan MacDonald (Colleen), Cailan Deans, Kelly Emmett (Scott), and Jeffrey Deans; and her cherished great-grandchildren Eden, Cole, Hannah, Molly, Sloane, Ellis, and Eila.
A devout Catholic and dedicated teacher in Scarborough throughout her career, Murdena touched countless lives with her compassion, patience, and gentle spirit. Her unwavering faith and love for her family will remain a lasting example to all who knew her.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ajax on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of a life so well lived.
She will be deeply missed, but her grace, laughter, and love will live on in all of us.
