Another big hole was left in our hearts. Our beloved Michelle passed away after a very courageous battle with cancer. She faced the last four months trying to keep a smile on her face and joking with staff and visitors, easing the situation. She became a favourite with staff and they called her their miracle girl as she kept defying the odds with her fighting spirit.
Michelle worked at a girl guide camp for several summers as the quartermaster where she made many lasting friends. She worked in customer service at both Canadian Tire and at Ikea. She worked for 24 years at a payroll company instructing employees and clients in how to use the programs. She paid attention to detail and always made sure her students understood the whys of what they were doing so that things made sense.
Her house was never empty as she had her “fur babies”. She had a great love for animals, especially cats. She even fostered some. She loved all types of music, reading and movies, especially A Christmas Story, the colour purple and the Walking Dead.
She will be deeply missed by her brother David, mom and dad, (Pat and Gord), friends and her cats Nudge and Cheeky. She is now at peace and has gone to join her sister Karen. Both gone far too soon.
Please join us for a celebration of her life on Sunday March 29th from 1:00 until 3:00. It will be an informal gathering with a few tributes to her around 2:00. Please feel free to share a remembrance.
