Michael Ozerkevich

Michael J. Ozerkevich passed away on May 2nd 2012 in Toronto. Michael will be greatly missed. He is remembered by all those whose lives he touched with his fierce intelligence, warm humour and passion for travel.
Michael was born in 1944 in St. Catherines Ontario to Stephen and Violet Ozerkevich. He joined the Canadian Navy as a young man, and attended Carlton University. While in the navy and after completing his undergraduate degree in English, he attended the University of Victoria for his Masters in Psychology. Michael had a rich and varied working life, some of which included working with troubled youth, acting as Assistant Deputy Minister in Ontario and Alberta, holding the position of President of Shared Health Network in Toronto, and finally valuating and consulting for software companies. His breadth of knowledge and intellectual curiosity have been truly inspirational.
Michael is survived by his children Rachel and Benjamin, his brother David and sister-in-law Sheila, his brother Bob and sister-in-law Emma, and many friends and family around the world. A memorial service will be held at the Simple Alternative Chapel in Toronto at 275 Lesmill Road, at 7pm Saturday, May 12th. A small gathering will follow. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation.
